Julie Chen Moonves, who was among the first hosts and moderators on The Talk (a Daytime Emmy Award award-winning talk show) was back on the air August 5 for the 22nd season. But her real passion was the time she brought writer into her duties, and was awarded an Emmy for this. Hosting an outstanding entertainment talk show has earned her another Emmy. The Talk examines contemporary events using the perspective of five hostesses. Chen Moonves hosted CBS News the early morning news show The Early Show for a 10 years. In the past, she served as CBS Morning News anchor and the host of The Early Show. Chen Moonves was assigned to Cairo in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. In Cairo, she scoured her down and spoke with the father of hijackers for an eye-opening and fascinating interview. Chen Moonves also reported for the Emmy-winning CBS Sunday Morning news program which featured celebrities such as Paula Abdul. Chen Moonves has also worked with the network's New York City station WCBS as a reporter anchor as well as a anchor (1997-1999). Before becoming a part of CBS News at the beginning of 1995 Chen Moonves had been an anchor and reporter for WDTN TV Dayton. She also served as a producer at ABC NewsOne (1992-1995), the affiliate news service of the network as well as a desk assistant in ABC News' Los Angeles bureau (1990-1991), while finishing her senior year at University of Southern California. It was her first broadcasting job as a Desk Assistant on ABC News' late-night show Nightline featuring Ted Koppel. Ted Koppel is still one of the journalists she admires. Chen Moonves, who won Columbia du-Pont for the primetime Anatomy of a Riot special that explored the 1992 Los Angeles riots, worked alongside Koppel.
